I'll be living the remote work lifestyle in the next few weeks. We are spending family time in another city and I do not have the amount of days off in my contract. We have a limited number of PTO days so I have to get creative.
Instead of using one of the sacred days off, I negotiated with my boss to work remote in another city 7+ hours away from any of my customers.
Can I be as effective at my job, when I am not in driving range of a customer? Will I be even better, because ill be forced to think of a creative solution If a new prospective customer asked me to come onsite?
I think this is going to open up more possibilities in my career as I work through this new problem. Plenty of people sell online without meeting their customers, can this work in my industry? I'm excited to give it a try because this could open up even more opportunities for career.
I believe it will enhance the way I sell by forcing me to spend more time focusing on the part of the job that is sometimes the hardest. I'll give myself a reset and find a new top 10 customer list, focus on some outbound emails and future meetings, maybe even get fully caught up on my CRM.
