I've had a pretty slow week with the boss being on vacation and the end of the year coming up in 2 weeks. I've hit all my goals, and the deals I have in the pipeline are still 6+ weeks away from coming to the table, so there little bit of a lull in the business right now.
The phone rings on Wednesday morning. A prospective customer is asking if we can make deliveries while their current supplier is out of commission. This is a short term project (about 2 weeks) not something we usually would handle. I decided to get creative and build rapport with the customer in the long term. Instead of a short contract I send them over a 3 year contract to be their back up supplier, incase something like this happens again.
This deal will bring me to 100% of my quota for next year, all because I was prepared with my numbers and contracts.
Now its time to hit the gym and celebrate with my fiancé.
